Jurgen Klopp equals Arsene Wenger’s record after Liverpool beat Chelsea

Jurgen Klopp has equalled Arsene Wenger’s record that stood for 19 years after guiding Liverpool to a 2-1 victory over Chelsea on Friday night.

Dejan Lovren opened the scoring in the 17th minute before Jordan Henderson doubled Liverpool’s lead at Stamford Bridge with a sublime string from long range.

Diego Costa pulled a goal back for Antonio Conte’s side but it wasn’t enough to stop them from suffering their first Premier League loss of the season.

And for Klopp, it was his second consecutive victory at Stamford Bridge after overseeing the 3-1 victory over Chelsea in west London last season.

And the German has now become the second manager since Arsene Wenger to have secured wins in his first two fixtures at Chelsea’s stadium.

The Arsenal boss first set this record in 1997 with a 3-0 win and a 3-2 victory.
