Juve boss Massimiliano Allegri has confirmed Cristiano Ronaldo will be on the bench for the Serie A clash with Atalanta today.
The 33-year-old has been a revelation since arriving in Turin from Real Madrid in the summer, scoring 11 goals after starting in each of Juve’s 17 Serie A games.
However with a crucial run of fixtures on the horizon and with Juve going for glory in the Champions League, Allegri says it is crucial the Portuguese also gets some rest.

It means for the first time since his arrival, he will not start today.
“Ronaldo’s going to be on the bench tomorrow (Wednesday),” Allegri told Sky Sport Italia on Christmas Day. “He’s available, but he’s going to watch the game together with me for the first time.
“I’m very happy with how he’s doing, as I am with everybody. We need him to be in his best shape in March when we get to the business end of the Champions League. He’s going to have to be even more decisive than he has been in recent years.”
