Juventus striker Paulo Dybala has revealed that his club rejected a massive offer from Barcelona for his services over the summer.
In comments to So Foot Club, he stated that he was happy to stay with the Turin club and appreciated the show of faith in keeping him around.
“Juventus rejected an offer for me [€90 million from Barcelona] and I have to thank Juventus because it means they believe in me. It is difficult to reject these kinds of offers. I am happy to stay, I am playing at one of the best clubs in the world and if I’d ever decide to leave, it’d be for the club’s good,” he said.
Had he left, it would have been interesting to see how he would have fit in with the rest of Barcelona’s attacking talent as Luis Suarez, Neymar and Leo Messi appear to have the three attacking spots pretty well sewn up.
Dybala meanwhile is setting some fairly lofty goals for his club side this year and down the track for the national team.
“We want to win the Champions League, why shouldn’t we? Winning the world cup with Argentina, however, would be even better, I’d go out of my mind if that even happens,” he said.
