Juventus will win league again ―Cannavaro

Former Juventus defender, Fabio Cannavaro has backed the Italian giants to win another Serie A title this term.

The Bianconeri have made a positive start to the 2018-19 campaign, having won both of their Serie A outings so far, as they look to win the title for an eighth successive time.

Napoli pushed Juventus all the way in the title race last season, however, they finished four points short and after losing boss Maurizio Sarri this summer they could struggle to get close again.

Juventus responded to Napoli’s challenge by bringing in Cristiano Ronaldo this summer and the club has also been investing off the field to boost their chances of enjoying a successful future.

Cannavaro, who made over 100 appearances for Juve during two separate stints, feels the gap between his former club and the rest is continuing to grow.

“Juve are the favourites for the Scudetto and, if anything, the gap with the others has increased. It’s off the field too, as the other clubs haven’t improved their infrastructure the way Juve have, building a new training centre and forming a B Team, even a top women’s team,” Cannavaro said.

“Juventus feel strong as a club and are not afraid to change. It wasn’t easy to end the rapport with Gigi Buffon and Claudio Marchisio, but the strength of the club carries them on.”
