KAF donates 50 first aid boxes to Ibadan schools

The Karim Adeyemi Foundation Safe Schools Initiative, in partnership with the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Oyo State Branch, on Thursday donated 50 fully equipped first aid boxes to public primary schools in six local government areas of the state.

The initiative, themed ‘Karim Adeyemi Foundation Safe Schools Initiative: First Aid for All’ was held at I.D.C Primary School, Gbagi, Ibadan.

The beneficiary schools were drawn from Egbeda, Akinyele, Lagelu, Ido, Oluyole, and Ona Ara Local Government Areas.

This intervention is a further testament to KAF’s dedication to fostering safer learning environments and empowering schools to manage health emergencies effectively.

In his remarks, President of KAF, Abiodun Adeyemi, who is the father of the Borussia Dortmund star, Karim, lauded his son for his never-ending support for the pet project.

“Today, we are gathered to witness Karim Adeyemi Foundation Safe Schools Initiative: First Aid for All. This programme represents more than just the distribution of first aid boxes to 50 primary schools in Egbeda, Akinyele, Lagelu, Ido, Oluyole, and Ona Ara LGAs. It embodies our collective commitment to improving health and safety in our educational institutions.

“At Karim Adeyemi Foundation, we are driven by the belief that access to essential first aid supplies and training is not just a privilege but a necessity. Our mission is simple: to ensure that schools are equipped to manage medical emergencies effectively,” he said.

Also, Executive Chairman, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, commended KAF for its remarkable commitment to the safety and well-being of the pupils.

Adeniran, who was represented by Mrs. Olaide Ladipo, said the donation is a significant step toward creating safer learning environments, and they are deeply honoured to be part of the transformative effort.

He urged the teachers and school administrators to ensure these first aid boxes are utilised effectively and maintained diligently, as they are vital tools.

“The Karim Adeyemi Foundation has set a commendable precedent, and we at OYO SUBEB pledge to continue supporting initiatives that prioritise the welfare of our pupils,” he said.
