Tottenham striker, Harry Kane is the best goalscorer in world football, according to England boss Gareth Southgate.
The World Cup’s Golden Boot winner netted the vital winner against Croatia on Sunday to put England through to the last four of the Nations League and continue England’s progression under Southgate.
Kane’s position had been questioned after a poor run by his high standards, which included seven games without a goal for the national side, and he missed a couple of chances in the first half on Sunday.
He was on hand to net the winner in the second half and Southgate says he never doubted him.

“He is the best goalscorer in the world, frankly,” he told reporters.
“You’re always loathe to take a player off of his ability.
“I know people have criticised those decisions over the summer, but he is our penalty taker, our leader and in 98 per cent of the games his hold-up play and everything else he brings as well as his goalscoring is critical.
”He played a fantastic pass for Raheem [Sterling] having dropped off and turned in the first half. We have huge belief in him and he is so hungry to lead the team on and lead the team further.”
