NEWLY-promoted Katsina United have shown their readiness for the 2016/17 Nigeria Professional Football League season scheduled to kick off on Janury 14 after clearing most of their new signings.
“We have cleared our new players as we hope to be competitive in the Nigeria premier league,” disclosed Katsina United chairman Aminu Balele Kurfi.
“We have fully paid for their clearance.
“This is another sign that we are in the NPFL for serious business.”
Among the new signings cleared are former golden Eaglets goalkeeper, Dami Paul who last played for Nasarawa United, Abdulwahab Bidemi (FC Ifeanyi Ubah), Tasiu Lawal (Niger Tornadoes), Eric Gwammy, Franky Eghervba (Mighty Jets), Kingsley Ajaero (Heartland), Franke Kappe (Abuja Football College) and Michael Nelson (El Kanemi).
Meanwhile, coach Bala Nikyu has expressed confidence that his charges would spring surprises in the Nigeria top-flight league given their level of preparedness.
