Speaking with Tribunesport, Kini said he’s not suprised by the outcome of the kitty saying he knew the corners of the course.
“Winning this kitty is not a suprise because since begining of this year, I have been playing well. Golf is my second place of work and being that, I learnt how to play golf here at Tiger Golf Club and I know all the corners of the course. However I was pared with the same handicaper and I was given a challenge but thank God that I was able to emerge victorious. I give kudos to the celebrant for identifying with the game golf,” Kini stated.
In his remarks, Captain of TGC, Dr John Dongo represnted by Mr Wale Osungbohun lauded Makinde for being so supportive of the game of golf and community at large.
Meanwhile, Makinde said “Golf is usually seen as elitist game and for me; my basic aim is to encourage talents that do not even have money. There are talents who are in the game and that is why I decided to include golf as part of my birthday celebration.
“I want to encourage more people to embrace golf because we have a lot of talents. In fact, we have a lot of ‘Tiger Woods’ who are just out there and all we need to do for them is to encourage them to come into the game.”
