The German boss has given his insight as to why the Reds failed to cap off their season by lifting the European trophy
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is the main feature in France Football magazine today and gives his insight as to why the Reds lost to Real Madrid in Kiev.
The latest edition of the publication focuses in on the German boss and to his thoughts on the Champion’s League final in May.
Liverpool were defeated 3-1 in the match with Mohamed Salah injured early on after a Sergio Ramos challenge and Loris Karius making a string of calamitous errors leading to the Reds conceding two goals.
However, when Klopp sat down to give his reasons as to why Los Blancos were victorious he said it was down to Liverpool’s squad size.

He said: “We had a fantastic season last year, although the result of the Champions League final was not what we were hoping for.
“Nobody was waiting for us there, even though, as the season progressed, we thought that the final was a possible goal.
“Everyone knows that Mo Salah’s injury has changed things. But not only that. We are not going to rewrite the story, but we played the last two months of last season with twelve valid players.
“We had to fight with Chelsea until the end (for a top four finish).”
This should not be a problem for Liverpool this season after several top players arrived at Anfield, including Alisson, Naby Keita, Fabinho and Xherdan Shaqiri.
On France winning the World Cup:
Naturally, speaking to a French publication Klopp also discussed the nation’s World Cup victory in Russia this summer.
He said, “Fance had the right players and the right tactics. Didier Deschamps could have done quite something else with this team.
