Klopp rules out Coutinho reunion

Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp has dismissed talk over a potential move for Barcelona playmaker Philippe Coutinho.

The Brazil international developed into a star of world football during his time at Anfield before sealing a £142million switch to Barcelona last January.

Coutinho netted eight times in La Liga during the second half of 2017-18, making 18 appearances, as Barcelona won the league and Copa del Rey.

But he has started just 10 games in the league this term and reports claim he could be on his way out of the Nou Camp.

Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are understood to be keen, while Liverpool have also been linked with his services.

When asked about the rumours, Klopp was quick to play down the link.

He said: “That is something I don’t want to talk about. I would not say it is a potential transfer or a likely one.

“Nothing to say. Whatever I say would open more stories and there is no story.

“Phil is at Barcelona and as I know he fits really well and everything is fine.”
