The atmosphere at the Ikoyi venue was further electrified by the presence of Afrobeats icon Tekno, who co-hosted the event and brought a unique energy to the proceedings. While Mobike served as the lead coordinator, ensuring the seamless organisation of the 32 finalists, Mr Eazi himself took centre stage to anchor the event and express his gratitude to the thousands of hopefuls who engaged with the platform.
He noted that the sheer volume of 55,000 entries proved that the continent is teeming with untapped talent that simply requires a stage to shine.
Addressing the crowd and the participants, Mr Eazi emphasised that this inaugural success is merely the beginning of a larger vision.
He praised Kosisochukwu Pascal Maduka for being a champion in every sense of the word and lauded Michael Christopher for showing incredible heart during the gruelling final match.
The entrepreneur confirmed that plans are already in motion for a subsequent edition of the 1v1 Africa Football Challenge, promising that the next instalment will be even bigger and better.
1v1 Africa was founded to celebrate the raw, individual talent and street football culture that defines the African sporting landscape.
