The management of Kwara United has expressed appreciation to Ikorodu City, Smart City, Lagos State Football Association and fans for their support and hospitality during the club’s temporary relocation to Lagos for the ongoing Nigeria Premier Football League season.
In a statement issued by Club Chairman, Kumbi Titiloye, the club described the support from Lagos football stakeholders as massive and unprecedented, noting the contributions of Ikorodu City, Smart City owned by the SSA on Grassroots Sports, Mr Anthony Adeboye Adeyinka, Lagos FA Chairman, Liameed Gafar, and other individuals to the team’s recent results.
Kumbi also commended Kwarans residing in Lagos, as well as supporters who travelled from Ilorin on matchdays, for their backing of the team.
According to the statement, Kwara United recorded strong results during their stay at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, with a draw against Rangers International and wins against Nasarawa United, Barau FC, Enyimba and El-Kanemi Warriors.
“We thank Lagos for their support. Their unwavering commitment played a pivotal role in securing positive results while temporarily playing at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena,” Kumbi remarked.
Kwara United currently sit 11th on the NPFL table with one game remaining against already relegated Bayelsa United in Yenagoa on May 24.
