Arsenal have a history a favourable draws in Cup competitions.
It turns out that the ‘Gunners’, who have won three FA Cups in the last four years, have devloped something of a habit for claiming favourable draws in cup competitions.
In fact, in their last five domestic cup games (excluding the FA Cup Final) Arsene Wenger’s side have been drawn against the lowest ranked side left in the compeition, with four of those five games being played on home soil.
Having beaten Doncaster 1-0 on Wednesday, Arsenal were rewarded with a game against Norwich City in the fourth round, with the ‘Canaries’ currently occupying 12th place in the Championship.
Whilst the Londoners’ draws have been favourable, they failed to take full advantage, losing 2-0 to Southampton in the League Cup quarter-final last season.
