Barcelona shrugged off their off-field woes to register yet another victory, extending their winning streak in the Spanish league to seven matches.The Catalan giants defeated Cadiz 2-0 on Sunday to increase their lead over second-place Real Madrid to eight points.
Goals from Sergi Roberto and Robert Lewandowski, both scored late in the first half, sealed the victory for Barcelona. Despite a lackluster second half, the Blaugrana managed to hold on to their lead and secure their 17th clean sheet of the season.

Speaking after the game, Barcelona coach Xavi praised his team’s performance, saying, “We played well in the first half. There was a bit of a letdown in the second, but it was expected. We have been playing a lot, the team is tired.”

The match came just after news broke that Barcelona is under investigation for their payment of millions of dollars to a company owned by the vice president of the Spanish federation’s refereeing committee. Despite the off-field distractions, Barcelona showed their class on the pitch.
Roberto opened the scoring in the 43rd minute with a well-placed shot from the middle of the area. Lewandowski, who had gone scoreless in his previous three matches in all competitions, doubled the lead just before halftime with a low shot from just inside the area.
The win saw Barcelona maintain their momentum ahead of their Europa League match against Manchester United on Thursday. After drawing 2-2 with the English club in the first leg at home, Xavi made some changes to the lineup in preparation for the trip to Old Trafford.
