In their bid to discover talents and nurture them into stardom, Lanreleke Sports Academy on Wednesday engaged the young players in Oyo State in screening exercise at University of Ibadan (UI) football pitch.
The newly-established Lanreleke Sports Academy (LSA) is a co-educational, fully residential and specialist Senior Secondary School which is located in Ileogbo, Osun State.
Over 40 young ones were on ground for the exercise where the organisers only needed five talents in football, athletics (Track and field) and basketball.
Oyo State is the fourth the academy will be visited having picked the best five from Lagos, Edo, and Delta states respectively.

According to former Green Eagles Captain, Chief Segun Odegbami (MON), 40 students, made up of 30 boys and 10 girls who will enjoy full scholarships will be selected as the pioneer group for the Lanreleke Sports Academy which will begin studies in October later this year.
He said the aim of the programme was to discover students who are talented in some sports and  who want to read so as to combine the two together as the school is offering them a three years scholarship.
He said “The students would not be above 14 years by October 1 and must also have the minimum educational qualification of the Junior Secondary School Certificate as they must be in at least SS1 by then.
“The aspiring students must have obtained their first and second term JSS 3 results and must possess special abilities to engage in any of three sports that will be played at the Lanreleke Sports Academy.

“It is also worthy of note that the parents of the selected 40 students do not have to be worried about tuition fees or any other thing as the school will cater for everything.”
Ex-International and LaLiga Ambassador, Mutiu Adepoju, the School Administrator, Mr. Chike Egbunu and former Super Eagles media officer, Toyin Ibitoye were on ground to monitor the screening exercise.
