Nigerian international Odion Ighalo has urged Jack Wilshere to leave English Premier League (EPL) giants Arsenal.
Wilshere, who is an English central midfielder, has battled for regular game time at Arsenal this season – having made eight appearances in all competitions.
China-based striker Ighalo has since stated that Wilshere needs regular game time in order for him to stand a good chance of securing a place in the England squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup finals.
“For him to get more games and to be ready for the World Cup,” Ighalo told Premier League Daily.
“He has to play more so if he’s still there and he’s not getting the opportunities to play, I’d advise him to leave.
Wilshere, 25, spent last season on loan at AFC Bournemonth where he made 27 EPL appearances.
“He’s a very good player, he can’t be there sitting on the bench. If he cannot play at Arsenal,” the Changchun Yatai player continued.
“He can play at any other big team in the Premier League,” Ighalo, who will be hoping to make Nigeria’s final squad for next year’s World Cup added.
Wilshere has featured in 34 games for England – scoring twice in the process.
