Ex-Nigerian international, Celestine Babayaro says Kelechi Iheanacho would find it difficult to score goals at Leicester City.
The former Chelsea defender and 1993 FIFA U-17 World Cup winner, Babayaro, believes the Super Eagles forward will struggle to find the back of the net unlike when he was at Manchester City.
Iheanacho joined the Foxes from the Citizens last summer carrying the reputation as one of the most clinical strikers in the English Premier League.
However, since moving to the King Power Stadium, he has struggled to hit the same height and Babayaro said Leicester’s style of play is to blame for his struggles at the club.
”It’s a different system for Iheanacho. A system which he isn’t use to, far different from the Man City style of play where the ball to feet even in the box allows strikers to be very clinical in front of goal”, Atlanta ’96 Olympic gold medallist, Babayaro told OwngoalNigeria.com.
”Leicester City play the typical way English teams like to play, and the strikers in such formation are required to do lot of running just like Jamie Vardy….even the Algerian guy Islam Slimani is struggling to cope.”
Meanwhile, Iheanacho, is yet to score for the Foxes in his six Premier League appearances so far.
