The defender pulled out of the Super Eagles team to face Zambia due to injury but has returned to full training
Nigeria defender Leon Balogun has returned to full training with Bundesliga outfit, Mainz.
The defender missed the Super Eagles’ World Cup qualifying fixture against Zambia after he suffered an injury in a Bundesliga game in September.
The 28-year-old is now certified fit by his club and up for selection in Martin Schmidt’s squad for their next game against his former side Darmstadt 98 on Sunday.
“Jairo Samperio returned to team training having recovered from his injury and is now available for selection for the upcoming matches. Fabian Frei and Leon Balogun also returned to the training ground. The injury list is getting shorter,” according to the club’s website
“The Zerofivers are in a good position to win their first home game of the season as they have had time to recover from the last few intense weeks and there are now more players fit for selection.”
Balogon’s recover means the player could also feature for the Super Eagles in November when they face Algeria in the Fifa World Cup qualifying round.
