David Neres
Liverpool have emerged as favourites ahead of Chelsea, Arsenal and Real Madrid for the signature for Ajax forward David Neres.
The Brazil forward, who recently won his first senior cap for his country, has enjoyed an outstanding season with Ajax, with the Dutch giants just a clean sheet and 90 minutes away from a place in the Champions League final.

According to reports in both the Daily Mail and The Sun, Liverpool have already spoken with Ajax about the player and have asked to be informed the moment Neres is put on the market. However, it’s also suggested they could set the wheels in motion early by registering their interest in the Brazilian now.
Ajax stand to make a huge profit on the £13million they paid to Sao Paulo back in 2016 to get Neres over from South America – with widespread reports claiming he could leave for a fee of around £35m this summer.
The 22-year-old is seen by Jurgen Klopp as someone who can only get better and worth the reported asking price. Liverpool’s strong Brazilian contingent also means the player would comfortably slot in were he to move to Merseyside.

It’s also suggested that Liverpool scouts will be present in Amsterdam on Wednesday night for the second leg of their Champions League semi-final against Tottenham, with a number of their outstanding young talents also poised the subject of big-money interest from European football’s super-powers.
In total, Neres has 29 goals in 95 appearances for Ajax since his arrival in January 2017.
