Liverpool clinch dramatic 4-3 win over Tottenham with stoppage-time winner

In a thrilling Premier League match, Liverpool secured a 4-3 win over Tottenham Hotspur in a dramatic contest at Anfield.

After suffering a 6-1 defeat to Newcastle United the previous week, Spurs were set for another bad result as Curtis Jones, Luis Diaz, and Mohamed Salah scored within the first 15 minutes. However, unlike in their previous match, Spurs showed resilience, and Harry Kane and Son Heung-min set up a grandstand finish before Richarlison scored his first league goal for the club in stoppage time, levelling the scores at 3-3.

As the Tottenham players prepared to celebrate their unlikely draw, Diogo Jota capitalized on Lucas Moura’s mistake to score in stoppage time, securing a 4-3 win for Liverpool and sending Anfield into raptures. This victory moved the Reds above their visitors in the Premier League table.

Liverpool only needed three minutes to score their opening goal, with Trent Alexander-Arnold continuing his impressive form by delivering a first-time pass for Jones, who scored with a side-footed shot at the far post. Just five minutes later, Diaz steered in Cody Gakpo’s cut-back to double Liverpool’s lead.

Gakpo was involved again when Liverpool scored their third goal 10 minutes later, as a foul on him by Cristian Romero allowed Salah to score from the penalty spot.

As half-time approached, Liverpool appeared complacent, and Son and Dejan Kulusevski missed chances before Kane scored with a close-range volley, making it 3-1. Spurs had hope as they hit both posts within a minute and Son scored to narrow the gap.

The game entered a third minute of stoppage time, and Tottenham looked to have secured a draw when Richarlison scored with a header from Son’s free-kick. However, in a dramatic twist, Jota intercepted Moura’s misplaced pass and drilled the ball into the net, giving Liverpool a 4-3 win and securing a memorable victory for the Reds.

This win was a much-needed boost for Liverpool after their recent struggles, while Spurs will be disappointed to have lost after their spirited fightback
