Jurgen Klopp
Liverpool’s shock Champions League defeat to Red Star Belgrade exposed their lack of Plan B under manager Jurgen Klopp, according to Tony Cascarino.
The Reds suffered a huge blow to their hopes of reaching the knock-out stages as they were beaten 2-0 in Serbia on Tuesday night.
And talkSPORT host Cascarino believes the defeat has highlighted a massive flaw in their game.
While Liverpool struggled to break down the stubborn Serbs, Premier League rivals Tottenham came back from a goal behind to beat Dutch champions PSV 2-1 on Tuesday.
Spurs’ late goals – both scored by Harry Kane – came after a change of tactics from Mauricio Pochettino, who introduced Spanish frontman Fernando Llorente to help break down PSV’s resistance.

Speaking on Wednesday’s Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, Cascarino said: “The difference between Liverpool and Tottenham last night was that Spurs could go long.
“They went direct, they brought on Llorente alongside Kane and they scored both of their goals from balls which they put into an area where they can cause havoc.
“Tottenham have that, but Liverpool don’t.
“Jurgen Klopp chooses not to play that way, he wants to stick to playing in the way he thinks they’re best at, which is his right.
“But Tottenham did have a little bit of a different dimension when they were chasing the game, and Liverpool didn’t have that.”
