Louis Saha urges Man United to re-sign ‘one of a kind’ Pogba

Former Manchester United striker, Louis Saha has urged the club to consider re-signing Paul Pogba for a third spell, describing the midfielder as “one of a kind.”

The Frenchman has been without a club since November after mutually terminating his contract with Juventus. Following an 18-month suspension for doping—reduced from an initial four-year ban on appeal—Pogba is now eligible to return to professional football.

He is currently training in Miami as he prepares for a comeback.

While linked with moves to Major League Soccer (MLS) and the Saudi Pro League, he has yet to receive formal offers.

Speaking to Genting Casino, Saha emphasised Pogba’s quality and potential impact at Old Trafford, despite acknowledging concerns about his time away from the game.

“I think so. I think that he’s still one of a kind.

“When you look at his quality, when you look at the squad we have in midfield, he’s a better player in terms of unpredictability and technical ability. I think he’s of a higher standard than the players that we have. Maybe physically, he’s not as good, that’s for sure. Because he hasn’t played for quite a while,” Saha said.

Saha also believes Pogba’s mental state would not be an issue. “Confidence-wide, he’ll be fine. Do we have guarantees about him? We don’t, but I’m sure, mentally, he’s refreshed.

He’s motivated because he has to prove a point to many. So this is something to play with and it could be an exciting project. Yes, there is baggage, but I think he has probably learned a lot during that time. I would think that’s a good gamble.”

Ruben Amorim’s side will return to Premier League action next week, facing a tough away fixture against Nottingham Forest on April 1.
