The Lagos football community was agog on Sunday, as the finals of the 2025 Lagos State President Federation Cup took place at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos.
Speaking with journalists at the well-attended event, chairman, Lagos State Football Association, Hajji Gafar Olawale Liameed, expressed satisfaction with the success of the competition.

“Without a doubt, this year’s competition was a big success in terms of quality of play, organisation, discipline and attendance at the matches from start to finish.
“Importantly, on behalf of the executive board of the LSFA, stakeholders, investors and the football community, I want to say a very big thank you to His Excellency Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for providing us with a safe and conducive environment, as well as, a beautiful facility for football and the youths to thrive.
“We also appreciate the leadership of the Lagos State Sports Commission, led by Honourable Lekan Fatodu, for ensuring there is a smooth and beneficial relationship with the LSFA.”
Hajji Liameed went on to appreciate football administrators, stakeholders, investors and government functionaries, including former LSFA chairman cum Nigeria Football Federation’s Vice-President, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi, ex-international, Waidi Akanni, and the SSA on Sports to Lagos State Governor, Honourable Damilare Orimoloye, among others.
