Lukaku ‘to seek legal advice’ over Everton owner Farhad Moshiri’s voodoo claims

Manchester United striker, Romelu Lukaku is reportedly set to seek legal advice over claims by Everton majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri that he left the club after receiving a ‘voodoo message’.

The Toffees’ chief made the bizarre claim to shareholders during the club’s general meeting on Tuesday evening.

“If I tell you what we offered him, you won’t believe it, and we offered him an even better deal,” he said when quizzed about Lukaku’s departure from Goodison Park.

“His agent came to Finch Farm to sign contract then Lukaku phones his mother and there was a pilgrimage to Africa and some sort of voodoo that says he had to sign for Chelsea.

“What can you do?”

Chelsea were linked with a move for their former player in the summer, only for Manchester United to hijack the deal and sign up the 24-year-old for £75million.

And according to the BBC , Lukaku was upset by the claims, with a spokesman saying: “Romelu’s decision had nothing to do with voodoo.

“He distances himself from these beliefs and this statement and will now see what judicial steps can be taken in relation to them.”

The representative added that a lack of confidence in Moshiri’s project at Everton meant he wanted to move on.

After missing out on Lukaku, Chelsea moved to sign Alvaro Morata from Juventus.

Lukaku has netted 16 times in all competitions for the Red Devils this season.
