After 27 years at the helm of Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson cannot simply just switch off his emotions, and he showed that after his former side were dumped out of the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Jose Mourinho’s men were beaten 2-1 on the night by Sevilla – courtesy of a four-minute Wissam Ben Yedder brace – which saw the La Liga side march into the quarter-finals.
Footage published on Twitter on Wednesday showed the current manager Mourinho and former boss Ferguson grimacing at the thought of yet more Champions League heartache.
As Mourinho makes the long walk from the home dugout towards the tunnel following the full-time whistle, his blood is boiling, understandably. However, the camera then switches to Ferguson.
Even through a camera, Ferguson’s displeasure at the thought of another European exit for a side that were once feared across the competition was impossible to avoid letting out.
