Managing Chelsea is bad for my health, admits Antonio Conte

Antonio Conte has admitted the stress of managing Chelsea is not good for his health.

The 47-year-old tactician arrived at Stamford Bridge this summer after impressive spells with Juventus and the Italian national team.

Chelsea sit one point off the top of the league in fourth place after winning their last three matches.

But despite their impressive run of form, Conte pointed out that management is an extremely stressful profession.

When asked if he was worried about his heart rate and the stress of the job, he replied while laughing: ‘I worry a bit.

‘Everyday I try to run, to keep fit.’

One thing that would certainly ease the pressure would be the deliverance of the Premier League title.

But Conte believes five or six teams can win it this season.

‘This league is very difficult,’ he added.

‘Every game anything can happen, you can win or lose.

‘It’s important to give continuity, to trust in the work.

‘Now there are five teams very close, but we shouldn’t look at the table. We must be focused on the work on the training pitch and take it game-by-game, step-by-step.

‘It’s important to improve and trust in the work, these are the most important things.’
