Dressing rooms at Manchester City’s training centre are no-phone zones for Pep Guardiola’s squad, with the players’ wi-fi cut off.
Pablo Zabaleta has revealed some moves Guardiola is making in a bid to further improve team spirit with the table-toppers.
Players are having breakfast and lunch together at the City Football Academy each day.
Guardiola’s methods have translated into results since taking over from Manuel Pellegrini in the summer, with City only suffering their first defeat of the season last weekend.
That came away at Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday but City already look a different proposition under the Catalan.
And Zabaleta opened up on some of Guardiola’s day-to-day secrets. ‘He forces us to have breakfast and lunch together at the club,’ Zabaleta told TyC Sports.
‘The internet is cut off. The dressing room is on the bottom floor, three floors down. There isn’t even 3G connection there. We are incommunicado there.’
Zabaleta’s right back berth could be under threat from Bacary Sagna when City arrive back from the international break after struggling at Tottenham and Celtic.
The Argentine’s form before then had been positive and he claimed that is down to Guardiola.
‘You always want and dream to be trained by the best coaches, and today I have the opportunity to work with one of the best,’ Zabaleta added.
‘Actually, you learn a lot, especially the way how you should live. Beyond the knowledge of his ideas, you see the passion with which he lives for football.’
