Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs says he’s ready for management

Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs believes he is ready to deal with the pressures of being a manager after ending his time as assistant at Old Trafford.

The former Wales midfielder has been out of work since leaving his position at United in the summer, following two years as Louis van Gaal’s right-hand man.

Giggs has also served four games in charge of United as caretaker boss, but now wants to become his own man and lead a club full time by himself.

Despite his inexperience at the top level, the 42-year-old feels his playing career under Sir Alex Ferguson would serve him well.

‘I have spent my whole playing career dealing with the pressure of being at United and I am ready for that pressure of being a manager,’ Giggs wrote in the Telegraph.

‘It is a tough place out there on your own on the touchline but there was also no question for me that it was the kind of pressure I wanted.

‘Ask anyone who has been an assistant and they will say that, while it is a great job, at some point you want to be your own man. I am at that point in my life.’

Giggs recently revealed he held talks over the Swansea City job, but was overlooked after a poor interview and with the Swans opting for the vastly more experienced Bob Bradley, much to the continued anger of Robbie Savage.
