Spurs have been without the 23-year-old for over a month after he picked up an ankle injury in September
HARRY KANE could return for Tottenham in time for the North London derby against Arsenal at the Emirates, says Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino.
The 23-year-old has been out of contention since damaging his ankle ligaments against Leicester in September.
Summer signing Vincent Janssen has been called upon to fill the England international’s role as the leading striker and he has struggled despite scoring three goals from the penalty spot.
There are rumours suggesting Kane could be involved in Spurs‘ Champions League game against Bayer Leverkusen at Wembley and Pochettino has hinted he could be fully fit to face the Gunners.
When asked for an update on Kane’s injury, Pochettino said: “Wednesday 50 per cent and Sunday we will see. We will see.
“Of course it’s important for Harry to come back. Harry is our main striker. We are very happy with Vincent [Janssen] but we brought him to share that position with Harry.
“It’s not only our strikers. Our second line need to score more and be more aggressive, to be more determined to score and not only to play well. We need to be more determined to score – be more direct, shoot, believe.
“The reality is we need to be more clinical and score more. There are no worries about that but I think we are happy with the performance. They had one shot and scored one goal.
“You need to win games and in the last few games we’ve had problems scoring goals.”
Spurs will face Arsenal on the 6th November, which is the game after their next fixture which is at Wembley against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League.
Kane has an impressive record against the Gunners and has scored in the last two meetings between the two teams and has scored four goals against Arsenal already in his career.
