Paris Saint-Germain and French forward, Ousmane Dembele, has described Lionel Messi as the best player he has ever seen, hailing the Argentine’s quality despite approaching the latter stages of his career.
Speaking to Marca on Friday, Dembele reflected on Messi’s ability to decide matches consistently, saying his influence has not faded despite moving into the final stage of his playing years.
“Lionel Messi is the best player I’ve ever seen.
“He’s 38 but he’s still fantastic and dangerous. His quality never gets old,” he said.
Dembele shared the pitch with Messi during their time together at Barcelona and later at PSG, where the two were part of an attacking unit that combined experience with technical quality.
He said that close-up experience reinforced his view of Messi’s uniqueness and warned that opponents still cannot afford to relax when facing him.

“We have to be all very careful. Leo can still win the World Cup,” he added.
Messi captained Argentina to World Cup victory in Qatar in 2022, ending a long pursuit of international success and further strengthening his legacy at the top of the game.
