Lionel Messi’s entourage has reached a groundbreaking agreement with Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal according to reports from Foot Mercato.
The 35-year-old Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) forward is expected to play his final game for PSG on Saturday against Clermont Foot at the Parc des Princes. Despite his recent reintegration into the team after an unauthorized trip to Saudi Arabia, the Argentine World Champion is likely to leave Les Parisiens at the end of the season, although his next destination remains unknown.
Earlier in May, AFP reported that Messi had a verbal agreement to join a Saudi Arabian club, although his entourage denied the existence of such an agreement. However, according to Foot Mercato, a deal is now in place.

As per the French sports outlet, it is likely that Messi will join Al-Hilal once his PSG contract expires at the end of the season. While the player still dreams of returning to Barcelona, the uncertainty surrounding the Catalan club’s finances has made Messi more open to the idea of joining the Saudi Arabian top-flight.
If Messi joins Al-Hilal, he would earn a mind-blowing €1.2 billion over a two-year contract.
This amount surpasses Cristiano Ronaldo’s current salary at Saudi rivals Al-Nassr. The deal is reported to also contain the highest commission in footballing history for Messi’s father, Jorge Messi, as well as his brother.
Foot Mercato further claims that Jorge Messi has already agreed to the proposed deal from Al-Hilal.
