Mfon Udoh and Chisom Chikatara top African Player of the Year nominees

The Enyimba and Wydad Casablanca forwards have been shortlisted by the Confederation of Africa Football for the best Africa based player award

Udoh whose nine goals in the 2016 Caf Champions League goals could not help Enyimba get past the group stage competes with compatriot Chikatara who scored four goals in three games in the 2016 African Nations Championship in Rwanda.

Other nominees include South Africa’s Itumelang Khune, Zimbabwe’s Khama Billiat and Cote d’Ivoire’s Yannick Zakri.

The winner will be decided by votes from the Head Coaches and Technical Directors of the National Associations affiliated to Caf.

Mbwana Samatta of Tanzania was named African Player of the Year (Based in Africa) in 2015.
