Mfon Udoh yes Continental success

Enyimba striker, Mfon Udoh has his eyes on next year’s CAF Confederation Cup after helping the club finish third in the 2016/2017 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) campaign.

Udoh was in spectacular form for Enyimba, scoring 12 crucial goals until an injury on match day 33 ruled him out for the rest of the season.

“I am happy that we were able to secure a CAF Confederation Cup ticket,” he told EnyimbaFC.net. “It was a tough season but we got important results that helped us.”

“To play away from Aba was not easy, but we got good support in Calabar. People came out to support us like we were a Cross River State team and this is why never lost a game in the town.”

Having secured qualification, excelling in the tournament is vital for the forward.

“Going very far in the competition is very important because this is a trophy that has not been won by Enyimba. We can’t just go there to make up numbers. Enyimba is always about winning so I believe the mentality will not be different next year. The focus for everyone is on this CAF Confederation Cup and how to be the best.”
