Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh, on Friday, in Abuja, met with the special adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination, Hadiza Bala Usman, to discuss on the need to advance sports development in Nigeria, particularly at the grassroots level, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“We are committed to harnessing the potential of sports to promote youth development, healthy living and national unity. Our discussions today centered on strategies to strengthen grassroots sports development and create opportunities for young Nigerians to excel in various sports,” the minister told Sporting Tribune.
Bala Usman, in her remarks, reiterated the administration’s support for sports development saying, “We are dedicated to creating an enabling environment for sports to thrive in Nigeria and we believe that grassroots development is key to achieving this goal.”
Sporting Tribune reports that the meeting marks a significant step forward in the implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda for sports development in Nigeria.
