The Chief Executive Officer of Monimichelle Sports Facilities, Ebi Egbe, has promised to deliver a world-class Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Port Harcourt and upgrade it into a sporting arena capable of hosting major international competitions.

Sporting Tribune reports that the project has recorded significant milestones despite some minor challenges associated with a project of such magnitude.

Egbe, in a chat with Sporting Tribune, expressed confidence that the stadium would be delivered within the stipulated timeframe, stressing that Monimichelle remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, quality and timely execution.

According to him, the company has put in place the necessary technical expertise, equipment, and workforce to ensure the successful completion of the project, noting that the upgraded facility will meet international specifications and serve as a suitable venue for continental and global sporting events.

“When completed, the Yakubu Gowon Stadium will not only serve Nigeria’s sporting needs but will also be capable of hosting international athletes and competitions. Our objective is to deliver a facility that meets global standards and enhances the country’s sports development aspirations,” Egbe told Sporting Tribune.

While acknowledging that every major construction project encounters certain challenges, he emphasised that such issues have not slowed the pace of work, assuring stakeholders that Monimichelle remains focused on achieving its delivery targets.

He said the company has consistently demonstrated its ability to execute landmark sports infrastructure projects across the country, adding that successful project delivery largely depends on cooperation among all parties involved.

Egbe maintained that Monimichelle does not falter in project execution when all stakeholders fulfil their responsibilities and the right processes are followed, saying collaboration, transparency and adherence to agreed obligations are essential ingredients for the timely completion of any major project.
