Morata desperate to quit Chelsea

Alvaro Morata is desperate to leave Chelsea having struggled since joining from Real Madrid for £58m in 2017.

His agent Juanma Lopez has met with Sevilla officials and discussed the possibility of a loan with an option to buy.

It is believed Sevilla have made Chelsea an offer worth £5m to loan Morata with another £35m to be paid in the off-season.

That would mean Chelsea would take a sizeable loss on a player who still has over three years left on his contract and is still aged only 26.

Chelsea will only let Morata depart once they have secured Gonzalo Higuain as a replacement.

Sevilla Director of Football Joaquin Caparros said: “We are interested in Morata, but it is a very complicated operation due to his cost.

“The player wants to come here over other options, but the negotiation with Chelsea will be very complicated.”

The Blues are expected to be very busy in the rest of the transfer window. They want Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella and Zenit St Petersburg Leandro Paredes – which will trigger the release of Cesc Fabregas to Monaco.
