Morata is looking forward to a reunion with former boss Jose Mourinho.
Morata spoke several times with Jose Mourinho and despite alse being of interest to Chelsea decided that he wants to be reunited with the Portuguese.
Mourinho always believed in Morata’s ability and he feels that the Premiel League would be a good fit for his talents as he is athletic enough to press and chase down lost causes but also an aerial threat.
However, there is still one slight hitch in the deal. In that Real are not prepared to sell the player for the €74m that United’s first offer amounts to and are instead holding out for between €85m and €90m.
If the ‘Red Devils’ do pay this amount, it would become Real’s record sale, surpassing the €75m that United paid them for Angel Di Maria in the summer of 2014.
Time is in Real’s favour, but Morata doesn’t want the deal to drag on all summer and so traveled to the Spanish capital to move the deal along. Morata wants the deal done by July 8th so that he can report for pre-season with United.
The 24-year-old is currently on holiday with his wife, Alice Campello.
