Morata linked with Juve return

Juventus are considering a move to re-sign Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata in the summer, according to a report from Italy.

TV Station RAI claim Juventus are ready to compete with Real Madrid for the signature of Morata, who has been at both clubs before.

The Spanish striker has had a mixed first campaign at Stamford Bridge following his club-record signing for around £60million from Madrid last summer – scoring 11 goals in 25 Premier League starts.

And, although he was no more prolific during his two seasons in Turin, Morata has admitted that he preferred the life in Italy to his experience in Spain or England.

Speaking ahead of Chelsea’s Champions League trip to Rome in October, he told La Gazzetta dello Sport that he would not have chosen to return to Madrid from Juventus in 2016 when Real exercised their buy-back clause.

‘There were contractual agreements to respect,’ he said.

‘The disappointment was huge: I went right back to the start – they treated me like the kid I was before the two seasons in Italy.

‘I arrived [in Italy] feeling like a boy and I returned feeling like a true player. I should never have left Italy and Juve.

‘I really miss Italy. My wife would like to live in Spain; I’d like to live in Italy.’
