Cyclists from 14 African countries are already in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, for the fourth edition of the African Track Cycling Championship.
The championship scheduled to hold between 14th and 17th July will take place inside the Velodrome of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja
The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, in company of top ministry officials and the President of the Cycling Federation of Nigeria (CFN), Giandomenico Massari on Wednesday visited the venue of the event.
Dare, while charging the cyclists to give their best, assured them of a hitch-free competition.
A delegation from the Confederation of African Cycling (CAC) led by its president Dr Mohamed Waguih Azzam later paid a courtesy visit on the Sports Minister.
The participating teams are host Nigeria, Burundi, Morocco, South Africa, Egypt, Algeria and Cote d’Ivoire.
Others are Togo, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Tunisia, Niger Republic, Benin Republic, Guinea and Botswana.
