Moses battles Mikel, Ndidi for Nigeria Pitch Awards

NIGERIA international, Victor Moses has been nominated for the 2017/18 Nigeria Pitch Awards in three categories.
The Chelsea star will battle with the Super Eagles captain now with Tianjin Teda of China, John Mikel Obi and Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi for the Midfielder of the Year Award.
Interestingly, the trio will also battle for the King of the Pitch Award.
Also, Moses will contend with Changchun Yatai’s goal merchant, Odion Ighalo and Lobi Stars’ Anthony Okpotu for the Striker of the Year Award.
Rising star, Shehu Abdullahi of Anothosis Famagusta FC is nominated with Leon Balogun of FSV Mainz 05 and William Troost-Ekong of Bursaspor for the Defender of the Year Award.
Recuperating Carl Ikeme of England’s Wolverhampton Wanderers is also in contention for the Goalkeeper of the Year Award alongside Ikechukwu Ezenwa of FC IfeanyiUbah and Dele Ajiboye of Plateau United FC of Jos.

Also, Okpotu who emerged last season’s highest goalscorer in the Nigeria Professional Football League with 18 goals, is in contention for the NPFL’s Most Valuable Player (Men) Award alongside former MFM FC of Lagos striker now with FC Zurich, Stephen Odey and the Super Eagles number one choice at the moment, Ezenwa.
Sensational lethal finisher Rasheedat Ajibade of FC Robo tops the list of nominees for the NPFL’s Most Valuable Player (Women) Award which also has Charity Rueben of Ibom Angels and Amarachi Okonkwo of Nasarawa Amazons.
Ajibade will also contend with Charity Rueben and the reigning African Player of the Year, Dalian Quanjian’s Asisat Oshoala for the Queen of the Pitch Award.
The man who coached Plateau United to win the NPFL title last season, Kennedy Boboye will battle with the Super Eagles manager, Gernot Rohr and Fidelis Elechukwu of MFM FC of Lagos for the Coach of the Year Award.
Ferdinand Udoh, Adebimpe Quadri and Ogabor Joseph are nominated for the Referee of the Year Award.
There are awards also for the Football Journalist of the Year (Print, Radio and Television categories), Football Friendly Governor of the Year, among other awards.
The fifth edition of the Nigeria Pitch Awards will hold later this month in Lagos.
