Moses on cloud 9 over Nigerian award

Victor Moses considers winning the 2018 NFF Player of the Year ‘an honour’.

The Chelsea wing-back won the prize after edging out Leicester City’s Wilfried Ndidi and Lobi Stars’ Anthony Okpotu.

The former Liverpool player played a crucial role as Chelsea won their sixth English Premier League title last season.

Moses flourished in an unfamiliar wing-back role under Antonio Conte featuring in 34 top-flight games and capping it with three goals in the 2016-2017 season.

Also, the former Wigan Athletic player was an integral part of Gernot Rohr’s side that helped Nigeria secure their sixth World Cup appearance in Russia, playing four of the six qualifying games and scoring three goals.

And after being recognised for his efforts, the player has sent in his appreciation via the NFF’s official Instagram account.

“Hi everyone, it’s Victor Moses here, thanks for making me the Nigeria Player of the year,” said Moses.

“And also thanks to the NFF for his award, I really appreciate it and it’s an honour to win an award like this for Nigeria.

“And also most importantly, thanks to all my fans that have supported me and being there for me right from day one.

“Thank you all and God bless,” he concluded.
