Al-Nassr winger Ahmed Musa and some Super Eagles officials will leave for Austria via Abuja tomorrow night ahead of the friendlies against Algeria and Tunisia.
According to the Super Eagles Media Officer, Toyin Ibitoye, among the Europe-based players invited for the friendlies are expected to report for international duty as from this weekend, after their club engagements.
“We’ll be playing on the 9th and 13th of October, on the 9th against Algeria and on the 13th against Tunisia, preparations are going very well,” Ibitoye said.
“We have crossed the t’s and dotted the i’s and we are looking forward to traveling, those of us going from Nigeria on Saturday.
“The captain of the team Ahmed Musa and some officials will be leaving from Abuja on Saturday night and the players could be joining us from their different clubs after their games this weekend.
“We are looking forward to these games, coming together again as a team, bonding, an opportunity for us to play together again, and I believe they will be worth our while.”
It will be recalled that Nigeria lost 1-2 to Algeria in the semi-final of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), while they beat Tunisia 1-0 to win the bronze medal in the same tournament staged in Egypt.
