Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr, says he finds it odd that his contract with Nigeria ends in the middle of qualification for AFCON 2021 in Cameroon.
“As is known, my current contract with the Super Eagles runs till June 2020. This ends right in the middle of the qualifying campaign for the 2021 AFCON, Rohr told the BBC.
“It’s a bit strange that I have a contract ending while I have to qualify for the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon,” he added.
Rohr won a bronze medal with the Super Eagles at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations and also qualified the team for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, where the team crashed out in the group stages of the competition after failing to beat Argentina in their last group fixture.

Just recently, he was in charge as the Super Eagles held Ukraine to a 2-2 draw in an international friendly.
However, the German tactician remained sceptical on his future with no serious talks from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) in extending his contract.
“I have a lot I want to achieve. Big things with Nigeria. I can see what the future can produce. I hope I can work with President Pinnick (Amaju) to achieve those things. But I don’t know my situation after June 2020. We have to see what happens.
