My social media posts are harmless — Boniface

Super Eagles striker, Victor Boniface, has defended his social media use, saying that his posts are not harmful, but only meant for humour.

Boniface joined Werder Bremen this summer after a failed transfer to Milan. Given his struggles with Die Werderaner, extra attention has been paid to his social media antics, and with it, criticism.

He explained that those posts are not meant to be taken seriously, saying that being a professional football player should not prevent him from having fun on social media.

In a clip shared by Oma Akatugba, Boniface explained his social media use to a press room, providing some insights into the intention behind his casual, less-than-professional approach.

He said, “Like I said, the media, they can put whatever they want to put; it’s on them. So my post here, my caption, doesn’t mean nothing.

“It doesn’t mean nothing. It doesn’t affect nobody.

“If I come online and post and I insult somebody. This is something different. I make a funny post and I post, bro, we are human beings here. We are a professional football players, but we are not robots, you know.

“You can’t control. I can’t control what you do same way you can’t tell me what to do on my own post. If I come to your post and put this, you can say to me, Oh, get the f**k out of my post. That’s on your post.

“I have an Instagram story, I do it myself. I’ve been making these post since when I was in Norway. You understand? So I didn’t insult nobody.”
