ALL eyes will be on veteran Abdulmumuni Babalola on Saturday, August 26 as he leads Team Civil Defence of Abuja to Ibadan to confront Team Oluyole in the ongoing 2017 NCC Tennis League.
Team Oluyole, it will be recalled, in their debut two weeks ago lost
on their home courts at Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan, to fellow NCC League debutants, VGC Lions of Lagos 2-5.
Interestingly, Team Civil Defence also lost at home to Team Muller 3-4 in the season’s opener.
Team Oluyole who paraded Samson Adewale, Sunday Okechukwu, Ismaila Ibrahim, Salami Ganiyu, Kunle Bamidele, Colleen Orji and Bukola Popoola in the season’s opener, may have perfected their strategies on how to give the NCC League inaugural winners a run for their money.
“We are well prepared for the clash with Civil Defence and our players are in high spirits. They are intact and ready to put in their best. The first fixture was an eye opener and we hope to churn out a better result this time,” Wasiu Ibrahim, a member of Team Oluyole told Tribunesport after a training session.
However, Ibadan-based Babalola, who is the reigning CBN champion, will also look forward to giving Team Civil Defence their first win of the season after the humiliation at the hands of Team Muller of Lagos.
Other players to watch out for from Team Civil Defence include Clifford Enosorogbe, Nonso Madueke and Christie Agugbom.
