A former Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Dr Amos Adamu, has expressed confidence in the ability of the chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Mallam Shehu Dikko and his team to transform Nigeria’s sports sector.
Adamu made the remarks when he paid a visit to Dikko on Friday in Abuja. Adamu, who praised Dikko’s leadership skills and vision, said Nigerian sports is on the verge of reclaiming its glory days under the new leadership.
“The National Sports Commission under Mallam Shehu Dikko can restore Nigeria’s sports sector to its rightful place. With his vast experience and commitment, the country is on the right track to achieving greatness in sports,” Adamu said.
Dikko, while appreciating Adamu for the visit, acknowledged his (Adamu) long-standing contributions to Nigerian sports. Dikko emphasised the importance of tapping from Adamu’s wealth of experience to achieve the Commission’s strategic goals.
“Dr Adamu is a veteran administrator whose experience in sports development is invaluable. Nigerian sports can benefit greatly from his insights and experience as we work to transform the sector,” Dikko said.
Dikko added that the NSC will continue to take significant steps toward fostering collaboration and leveraging institutional knowledge to drive the reforms envisioned by the leadership of the NSC.
