Neymar ruled out for two months

Neymar has been ruled out for two months – putting him in a race against time to be fit for the World Cup.

The PSG superstar picked up a nasty injury against Marseille on Sunday night.

It emerged last night that he had a sprained ankle and a broken metatarsal on his right foot.

And Globoesporte in Brazil now report that he has decided to undergo surgery and will miss two months of action.

That means he is set to return at the start of May – just a month before the World Cup begins.

He is out of the Real Madrid clash on March 6 and is struggling to return at all this season.

It also damages his chance of being at his best during the World Cup, having just a month to get up to speed.

Neymar joined PSG in the summer from Barcelona in a deal wroth £200m.

Since then he has shone in France, scoring 19 goals in 20 Ligue 1 games and six in seven in the Champions League despite being linked with a move to Real Madrid.
