Neymar will pay his buy-out clause today

After Barcelona announced the Brazilian’s decision to leave the team, Marney will pay his release clause on Wednesday in order to join PSG.

Neymar touched down in Barcelona yesterday and since his arrival he has gone through hours of frenzy in the Spanish city. This morning, he said goodbye to his Barca teammates after informing the club of his intention to pay his release clause.

The Brazilian is expected to board a flight on Wednesday to enjoy some days off before getting to work under manager Unai Emery at PSG.

The Catalan club warned that they would only accept the player’s departure if they received the 222 million euros stipulated on his buy-out clause, a fee that the player is planning on paying today at La Liga offices.

Neymar will then be free to sign for the club he wishes and PSG await with their arms open and a yearly salary in the region of 30 million euros, as well as a transfer bonus of 40 million euros.

La Liga’s reaction remains to be seen, as chairman Javier Tebas threatened to report the transfer to UEFA if it was in breach of financial fair play rules.
