Amaju Pinnick
Indications are rife that major sponsor of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), the AITEO Group may pull out of the deal with the Federation over the ongoing crisis rocking the football house.
A board member of the Amaju Pinnick-led NFF told Tribunesport that THE AITEO Group has written an official letter to the leadership of the Federation expressing its displeasure at the mess and may pull out if the issue is not resolved by today (Friday).
In the letter which was sent on Wednesday to the leadership of the Federation and signed by the CEO of the group, Ben Peters, it was stated that the crisis is not good for the image of the company and for that reason, it is considering pulling out.
“But the president of that faction, Amaju Pinnick, has been speaking and appealing to the CEO to have a rethink and consider their personal relationship as well as the future of football. If the AITEO Group pulls out, that means we are losing about N2.5billion sponsorship deal and our football will suffer. When we took over, NFF was dead because all sponsors had all gone but we brought back Coca-Cola, TomTom, among others, so now if these ones to go, what will happen to our football?
“Pinnick is talking to them based on the personal relationship he has with the management of the various companies and we are so sure that they will not pull out,” the top NFF official said.
