The Unified Nigeria Football Supporters Club (UNFSC), has distanced itself from any planned protest against the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
The national president, UNFSC, Price Vincent Okumagba, while addressing the media in Abuja, warned members not to be part of any protest, saying the club is rather committed to dialogue and engagement with relevant authorities than resorting to protests that will affect the growth of football in Nigeria.
He said, “We are directing all our members to stay away from the rumoured protest because we are focused on ensuring that we support the Super Eagles’ quest to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.”
According to Okumagba, UNFSC represents the collective interests of football-loving citizens nationwide, and is satisfied with the renewed efforts to reposition the nation’s football by the NFF.
“We are in Abuja doing our best to storm Morocco ahead of the playoffs and we don’t need distractions that will jeopardise our World Cup ambition because football is a unifying force.
“We, as fans and supporters club, appreciate all the collective efforts of genuine football stakeholders in the country to better the state of our football,” he added.
